Myth vs Reality: Autism

What are the Common Myths Surrounding ASD? What is the Truth?
Despite the awareness and attempts to rebut the frequently stated illusions of truth, some lies slip through these cracks. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has to be talked about for those who don't have the disorder to understand.
A couple of the more widespread wrong ideas people have had are: autism is caused by vaccinations, and autism is curable (Chmielowicz, 2024).
Vaccinations do not cause ASD; the truth is far more diverse and multiplex than that. A study published in 1988 demonized the MRR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccination due to the false claim of acquiring ASD. This study has been refuted by loads of other studies showing there is no connection between autism and vaccines. This myth proceeds to misinform others about autism's functions and how it's gained. An amalgamation of genetics and the environment causes autism. The chance of autism originates from your genome from 60% to 90% and comes from families rather than vaccines intended to prevent diseases such as measles (Chmielowicz, 2024).
Autism does not have a cure, but services, therapies, and combinations will certainly help to improve their lives. To add to this myth, some claim that gluten-free and casein-free diets can be the "cure" for autism. Improvements to symptoms can occur with these diets, but autism itself won't be cured. These improvements in their day-to-day lives most likely arise from taking away uncomfortable affiliations that come with dietary densities of gluten and casein (Chmielowicz, 2024). ABA therapy has been proven effective for autism. This kind of therapy has been applied to work on language development in children with autism. Language learning of the average language skills of an autistic child increases the child's vocabulary skills by one or two lessons, with wonderful scores. If we compare this to children without ASD, they are required to learn four to five times and end up with poor judgment in their scores (Ithryiah, 2018). This has been shown in cases like a father named David. APA is structured and allows kids to learn skills and behaviors by repetition to teach them. David put his kids, William and Evan, into ABA following the doctor's diagnosis for these kids to have the best future possible (“ABA Therapy for Autism” 00:00:40–00:01:20).
Therefore, autism is not caused by vaccinations, and autism is not curable despite what misinformation claims (Chmielowicz, 2024). These were only a couple of the myths surrounding autism and the truth behind them.
